Luis Nery KO3 David Carmona... In the main event in Tijuana, the former two-division champion Luis "Pantera" Nery had a successful return home, knocking out Mexico City's David "Severo" Carmona in the third round. Nery (33-1, 25 KOs) came out on the attack from the first round, varying his attack up and down with a powerful left hand. He was able to put Carmona (22-11-5, 9 KOs), who went the distance with Naoya Inoue in 2016, in a bad condition very quickly. Nery knocked down Carmona in the second round and only the bell allowed Carmona to finish the round on his feet. Nery knew that his rival was still hurt and quickly went after him in the third round. Nery knocked down Carmona twice in that third round, and for the second knockdown of the round there was no count, as the towel came flying in the ring from Carmona's corner.
