PRESS RELEASE: Skilled left-hander and WBO #1 rated featherweight Steven Luevano of LaPuente, Calif., is in the main event in Nogales, Arizona, on Friday night. Luevano, 25, has a record of 31-1 with 14 knockouts. He will take on Baudel Cardenas of Los Mochis, Mexico in a 12-round bout on a Top Rank fight card which will be televised on Telefutura. "I'm a boxer-counterpuncher," said Luevano, who is trained by Robert Garcia. "I wait for the other fighter to make a mistake and then catch him." On the undercard, Brandon Rios, a 12-0 super featherweight from Oxnard, Calif., will take on Elias Diaz of Dallas. The fight card is at the Palo Duro Golf Club in Nogales.
