Luevano-Davis added to Pacquiao-Barrera II PPV

PRESS RELEASE: World featherweight champion Steven Luevano of La Puente, Ca. will make his first title defense Oct. 6, taking on Antonio 'T-Rex' Davis on the Manny Pacquiao vs. Marco Antonio Barrera "Will to Win" HBO PPV fight card at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Luevano has a record of 33-1 with 15 knockouts. T-Rex Davis is 24-3, 12 KOs and fights out of Atlanta, Ga. Luevano, 26, won the WBO 126-pound title on July 14 when he knocked down Nicky Cook five times and stopped him dramatically in London, England.

British Boxing News editor Claude Abrams reported from ringside that night "...Steven is a superb technician with outstandingly quick hands and beautiful poise, the type of boxer I could watch all day. Not long into the fight one could tell Luevano was a little special – he cut a relaxed figure and the speed and smoothness with which he countered soon had Cook hesitant to attack.”

"We really think Steven is going to be a superstar," said Bob Arum of Top Rank. "But the next order of business is getting into the ring against T-Rex Davis."

Pacquiao vs. Barrera is promoted by Golden Boy and Top Rank and will be available on HBO Pay-Per-View. The Luevano vs. Davis world title fight will be on the PPV telecast.
