Eric Lucas will be looking to add another World Title to Canada's boxing resume this Saturday night at the Broendby Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark where a hostile crowd will be cheering on his formidable opponent, local hero and current WBA World Super Middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler.  Lucas, a former WBC Super Middleweight champion from 2001 to 2003, will enter the ring at no less than a 4-1 underdog.  Although Lucas is eyeing this bout as his "last dance" with a major title at stake, he has made no public confirmations thus far concerning his boxing future should he come up short in his quest.Â
Head trainer and InterBox executive Stephan Larouche firmly declares to all listeners that there are chinks in Kessler's armour big enough for his boxer turned InterBox President to exploit from the first round on. Mikkel Kessler weighed in at 168 pounds on the nose, while Lucas tipped the scales at 166.8 pounds. Kessler will likely enter the ring a lot heavier for this his first voluntary defense of the title he violently grabbed from Manny Siaca and subsequently defended with relative ease against mandatory opponent Anthony Mundine.. The bout will be presented throughout Denmark on DK4 Sports, and in Canada on Bell ExpressVu and Canal Indigo (PPV).
