Press Release: The Louis Turner/Hernandez eight-rounder is featured on the undercard of the lightweight unification bout between undefeated WBA/WBO champion Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz, and IBF champion Julio “The Kidd” Diaz.
Finishing up a recent training session at Fuller Park gym in Chicago, Turner, sporting a record of 11-0 (7KO’s) spoke of the importance of the fight, “This is a real solid step up for me, Toro’s fought and beat many world class fighters. He’s a pretty straight forward fighter with a great deal of experience, so it’s important I’m able to adjust to whatever he brings into the ring.”
Hernandez comes into the bout with Turner with a record of 27-6 (16KO’s). In 2003, he challenged Winky Wright for the junior middleweight world title. His career also includes battles with former world champions Kassim Ouma, Wilfredo Rivera and Frankie Randall.
