Local talent highlights Atlantic City show!

Promoter, Alfredo Marchio seeks to develop the next generation of Atlantic City fighters beginning this Saturday at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center.  The Clarion plays host to Debind Thapa and Juan Carlos Jacobo in a rematch of an Atlantic City classic from last autumn.   Thapa and Jacobo look to decide their draw over 8 Rounds of Bantamweight boxing.  The venue is located on Black Horse Pike, also known as Route 40, about 5 miles west of Atlantic City's boardwalk.

Marchio's promotion finger is on the pulse in Atlantic City.  He focuses on giving the fans good fights with mostly local talent such as Chuck Masaccio in his pro debut against Light Heavyweight Karim Shabazz. William Gill is in for an interesting evening.  He faces Mario Maldonado over four in the Cruiserweight division.  Maldonado returns after a 20-year layoff!!.  Gill is 27 years old with a 2-2 record.  Maldonado stopped fighting in 1985 after wins over Randy Smith, Buster Drayton and Nino Gonzales at 154 lbs. It's safe to say  Maldonado sees an interesting evening ahead, too.

Also performing will be Lorenzo Bethea (3-0) as he protects his home turf from New Yorker, Filiberto Nieto (1-0).  Johnny Hayes vs. Vance Garvey are scheduled for four rounds in the middleweight dvision.  At least one other bout is being arranged.  The Clarion Hotel (6821 Black Horse Pike) will have food and drink available and you can check for rooms by calling 609 272-0200.  Ticket arrangements can be made with the Clarion or Mr. Marchio at 609 576-2600.  The doors will open at 7:30 and the first bell is 8pm this Saturday.
