Boxingtalk salutes former champion Lehlo Ledwaba of South Africa, who died of the coronavirus weeks short of his 50th birthday. Ledwaba is best known for losing to Manny Pacquiao, a fight that put Pacquiao on the path to boxing immortality. But Ledwaba had a fine career of his own, highlighted by a 1999-2001 reign as IBF 122-pound champion. Ledwaba defeated John Michael Johnson for the title, then had five successful defenses before losing to Pacquiao. Ledwaba also won minor titles at 118 annd 126 pounds. In a career that lasted from 1990-2006, Ledwaba compiled a record of 36-6-1. Boxingtalk sends its deepest sympathies to the friends and family of former champion Lehlohonolo "Hands of Stone" Ledwaba.
