Lebedev agrees to face Goulamirian; no details revealed

The WBA has called off a purse bid for a cruiserweight title fight between Denis Lebedev (pictured) and Arsen Goulamirian. The purse bid was due to be held today. The WBA announced that the two boxers had reached an agreement to fight, although no details of the date or venue was announced. The WBA recently shuffled around its multiple cruiserweight champions. Lebedev, from Russia, was originally the WBA super champion. But as O(leksandr Usyk unified the cruiserweight division, Usyk became super champion and Lebedev, who lost to Murat Gassiev, became the champion in recess. When Usyk announced a move up to heavyweight, the WBA returned to listing Lebedev as super champion. Goulamirian, born in Armenia, was listed as the interim champion with Beibut Shumenov in between Lebedev and Gouamirian as the regular champion. But Shumenov foolishly signed with Don King, who won a purse bid for Shumenov to fight Goulamirian and then defaulted on the bid without staging  the fight. Shumenov was then downshifted into Lebedev's old spot as champion in recess, and Lebedev (32-2) was ordered to fight Goulamirian (24-0). Stay tuned for more details to see what happens to Lebedev-Goulamirian.
