Last round KO keeps Bute's streak intact!

Unbeaten but semi-active heavyweight Jean-François Bergeron improved to 21-0 (15 KOs) with a fourth-round TKO of Jimmy Joseph (15-2-1, 14 KOs)… Light heavyweight David Whittom (4-0-1, 2 KOs) became the first holder of the newly created Quebec regional championship by outpointing Martin Desjardins (3-4, 3 KOs)… Romanian cruiserweight prospect Adrian Diaconu (16-0, 9 KO)
came back from a one-year layoff with a fourth-round stoppage of Jesse Sanders (11-2-2, 9 KOs)… Welterweight Jo Jo Dan remained unbeaten with a fourth round TKO of Francisco Guillen… 2004 Olympians Benoît Gaudet and Antonin Décarie both won their 2nd pro fights by a 2nd round TKO and 4 round decision respectively… This Interbox promotion sold out the  8486-seat Bell Centre
amphitheater in Montreal.

Hot super middleweight prospect Lucian Bute (11-0, 11 KOs) has kept his perfect KO record intact by making a strong rally in the championship rounds to stop the tough Christian Cruz (10-2, 7 KOs) 2:18 of the final frame in Montreal on Friday. Despite taking it easy in the middle rounds, Bute was in full control and was able to knock down Cruz four times during the bout. It was the first time Bute had gone past four rounds in his professional career. The victory booght him a regional super middleweight title to go along with the regional light heavyweight belt he won last month against Carl Handy. Bute's next fight is a scheduled comeback to his hometown of Galati, Romania, on April 23rd.
