Mads Larsen W8 Nader Hamdan... Mads Larsen continued his successful comeback on Saturday night when he outclassed Nader Hamdan in Berlin. In only his third fight since October 2003, the former European super-middleweight champion floored his opponent with a left hand in the third round before cruising to an uncontested 80-73, 80-72, 80-71 victory. He almost stopped Hamdan in the eighth when he connected with a few strong lefts but the Australian survived until the bell. "This was one of the best days since my comeback," Larsen said afterwards. "I am pleased with my performance but I still have to get better. I am at about 50 percent of what I can do. I need to keep improving - I am never satisfied." Larsen chalked up the 48th victory in his 50th fight along with 37 KOs. Manager Wilfried Sauerland was pleased with Larsen's showing. "This was a very good performance tonight," he stated. "I think he is improving with every bout. After two more fights he will be ready to fight for the European title." The ultimate goal will then be a world title fight as well as a meeting with countryman Mikkel Kessler. "He is on a very good path", Sauerland added. source: sauerland press release
