Larry Holmes documentary to premiere in NYC

Press Release: Larry Holmes is undeniably one of the greatest champions in heavyweight history. Yet despite Holmes' accomplishments, he never managed to escape the presence of the beloved Muhammad Ali.  A new documentary being premiered in New York City this week will try to give Holmes the credit his accomplishments deserve by shedding new light upon the man.  The film, titled  “Out From Ali’s Shadow,”  will include interviews with Larry Holmes, Gerry Cooney, Rev. Al Sharpton, Bert Sugar, Lou DiBella, Tom Hauser, Steve Farhood, Larry Merchant, Max Kellerman, Dennis Rappaport and others.  The documentary is written by Evan Grant and narrated by the late Ralph Wiley.  It includes never-before seen interviews with the late Jack Newfield. The film's executive  producer is Mike DeLisa, who won a Screen Craft Award for  his last effort, "The SuperFight: Marciano vs. Ali."  That  film serves as the basis of the plot in the Rocky Balboa movie and will actually be seen in the movie, which debuts next month. DeLisa has also worked as a historical consultant in the 2005 film, “Cinderella Man,” directed by Ron Howard.
