Larios-Guzman Not Happening April 9!

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has informed Boxingtalk.com that the anticipated junior featherweight unification bout between WBC champ Oscar "Chololo" Larios and WBO titlist Joan Guzman will not take place on April 9 as the co-feature to Marco Antonio Barrera's mandatory defense against Mzonke Fana. In other news, Wayne McCullough, just beaten by Larios last Thursday, said he will not retire and hoped Larios would give him a rematch. Barrera-Fana will headline an HBO PPV telecast live from El Paso, Texas.  A last ditch effort to add "Sugar" Shane Mosley to the card fell short, but GBP is working dilligently to secure a formidable undercard with competitive world championship fights.  A WBO 115-pound title bout between Ivan Hernandez and Fernando Montiel will likely take place on the televised portion of the card, but the rest of the undercard has yet to be solidified. Boxingtalk will continue to keep you updated until then, Remember where you heard it first! (12:00 AM ET)
