Lacy surgery a success, expected to return in spring!

Former super middleweight champion Jeff "Left-Hook" Lacy underwent successful surgery on his torn rotator cuff yesterday afternoon. Surgeon James Andrews performed the procedure at St. Memphis hospital in Birmingham, Alabama and informed Lacy that he will need three months to rehab. Andrews told Lacy and his promoter Antonio Leonard that he was shocked Lacy was able to fight an addtional ten rounds after suffering the injury in his slim majority decision victory over Vitali Tsypko. "They said Jeff shouldn't have been able to lift a glass a water, but the surgery was a success and 2007 is going to be Jeff's year." Leonard informed Boxingtalk that we should expect Lacy to return to the ring in six months. (11:20 AM EST)
