Last week, Boxingtalk published an interview in which Omar Sheika accused Jeff Lacy of avoiding him for a December 2, 2006 date on HBO. A representative of Lacy's new promoter, Antonio Leonard, has contacted Boxingtalk with a response on behalf of Lacy, who already defeated Sheika once. According to the response, a second Lacy-Sheika fight is unlikely for now, but not because Lacy is ducking Sheika. Here is the statement: "In regards to Omar Sheika, Team Lacy and HBO have been exchanging lists and narrowing down the possibilities for Lacy's fight on December 2nd for the past ten days. Omar Sheika's name has never appeared on either list. Nobody is ducking Sheika, the fact is he has not even been discussed. With two losses in a row and being off for so long, let's just file that one under pipe dreams."
