Kofi Jantuah hooks up with German promoter

PRESS RELEASE: Outside of the ring Kofi Jantuah (31-3-0) is a very polite and almost shy guy. When he introduced himself to the arena-team some weeks ago nobody would have thought that this man had been Commonwealth Champion in 1999 and fought for world titles twice, only losing both fights by decisions.

In Germany Kofi impressed the public with a very tough battle against IBF middleweight titlist Arthur Abraham on May 13th 2006. Abraham just barely won the fight (115:112, 116:111, 117:109) and some spectators thought that it might have had a different ending if the fight had not been on German soil. In 2005, Las Vegas based Jantuah had tried to capture the IBF junior middleweight crown from Kassim Ouma but lost in Atlantic city on points (112:116, 111:117, 110:118).

Now Kofi is heading for gold again supported by his new promoter Ahmet Öner and arena Box-Promotion. Originally the 33-year-old came to Hamburg to do sparring with Mahir "Lion" Oral and Randy Griffin. Now he is on his way to become a main eventer for arena and fight for the world title again. And his new promoter believes that Jantuah got what it takes to go straight back to the top. Ahmet Öner: "Kofi is a great boxer. I am convinced that he is capable of achieving great things with and for arena."

On November 27, 2007 Kofi wants to proof that it was a good decision to sign him when he gives his debut for arena in San Sebastian (Spain) against local hero Ruben Diaz (12-1-1) for a regional title.
