KnockOut Promotions outbids Matchroom for bridgerweight title fight

At the beginning of 2023, the first WBC bridgerweight (224-pound) champion Oscar Rivas suffered a detached retina and will be unable to fight in the near future. Consequently, the WBC designated Rivas as champion in recess until his status is more certain. The WBC Board of Governors has now voted that Alen Babic should fight Lukasz Rozanski for the vacant title with a 50-50 purse split. Rozanski's promoter, Andrzej Wasilewsky of KnockOut Promotions won the right to promote the fight with a purse bid offering of $425,000. That beat the $350,000 offer from Matchroom Boxing, who was represented by Tom Dallas. The WBC expects the winner of the fight to comply with two WBC mandatory fights!
