Press Release: The WBC has designated Vitali Klitschko as "world champion emeritus." That designation was previously used for Kostya Tszyu a couple of years ago when Tszyu went inactive for along stretch. The WBC said it gave Klitschko this special status "in recognition of his unquestionable loyalty and his extraordinary boxing career."  According to the WBC, the privilege of this title is that if Klitschko decides to return to actively boxing again, he will become the "immediate mandatory official challenger" for the WBC heavyweight title.
