Kirk Johnson coming back to face Dominic Guinn?

Press Release: Final preparations are being made for a scheduled ten-round heavyweight bout between Dominick Guinn, 27-4-1 with 18 KOs and Kirk Johnson, 36-2-1 with 26 KOs. The bout is tentatively set to take place February 16, 2007 at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles with Fox Sports Net broadcasting. Both men are looking for a definitive win to throw them back in the heavyweight picture, and this is the opportunity that Arkansas native Dominick Guinn has been waiting on since losing to Tony Thompson this past June. “I am happy that my promoter Goosen Tutor is keeping me busy. I am coming off of a win and I am still young and I like to fight, I am just happy to be coming back and to go out there and do what I have to do to win.”  Guinn is coming off a split decision victory over tough journeyman Zack Page this past December. Johnson's two losses came in title fights against Vitali Klitschko and John Ruiz. He has not fought since March 2006, a bout originally ruled a loss for Johnson, but later changed to a no contest as Johnson was unable to continue after his opponent, Javier Mora, stepped on his foot leading to a leg injury.
