Promoter Don King has informed Boxingtalk.com that he still has a "valid contract" with former undisputed welterweight champion Cory Spinks. According to King, his contract with Spinks expires next June, a position obviously not shared by Team Spinks who recently signed with Bobby Bostick Promotions, as Boxingtalk first reported on Friday afternoon. Earlier today, King's attorney Judd Burstein sent a letter to Bostick's attorney, so there should be much more to follow including seperate interviews with both King and Bostick. In other news King confirmed to Boxingtalk that another pair of former welterweight champions, Ricardo Mayorga and Michele Picirillo will fight for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title as part of August 13 PPV "extravaganza."
