Kevin Johnson Ready to Move Out the Heavyweight Division

"There are a bunch of fighters in the heavyweight division who shouldn’t be in the top ten. I can move 95% of the top ten fighters out in the next two years."

BoxingTalk:  Kevin, congratulations on your win this past weekend.  How do feel about your performance over Damian Wills?

Kevin Johnson:  It went exactly how I wanted it to go.  I am very happy the way I was able to dictate the fighters the way I did.

BoxingTalk:  Did you do everything in the ring that you had worked on in the gym?

Kevin Johnson:  Almost.  There’s so much more to Kevin Johnson.  Nobody has seen me throw combinations like that before, and I have way more than that in my arsenal.

BoxingTalk:  Was there anything that surprised you about Wills’ performance?

Kevin Johnson:  That he didn’t quit.

BoxingTalk:  Were you ever hurt in the fight?

Kevin Johnson:  I did whatever I wanted to do.  I talked to Damian’s wife throughout the fight.  I’d respond to her comments about him knocking me out.  There are a bunch of fighters in the heavyweight division who shouldn’t be in the top ten.  They don’t deserve to be there.  I can move 95% of the top ten fighters out in the next two years.

BoxingTalk:  What statement do you think you made with your win over Wills?

Kevin Johnson:  That I’d fight anybody with a good record.

BoxingTalk:  What’s next for Kevin Johnson?

Kevin Johnson:  I’d like to fight David Tua or Holyfield.  I’m trying to retire people.  Wills is done.  Do you think he’d be able to come back after losing against a guy who is 15-0?

BoxingTalk:  When would you like to be in the ring next?

Kevin Johnson:  Hopefully next week, but probably next month.  It’s hard to get fights with great performances like I had this weekend.
