Kermit Cintron: Paul Williams doesn't want to fight me, I'd knock him out in the later rounds

GL: You were scheduled to defend your title on September 8 on the televised undercard of Fernando Vargas and Ricardo Mayorga. Now that the card has been postponed, how do you feel about the postponement and when can we expect you to get back in the ring? "I feel there should have been a new main event. I even offered to fight at 154 against Mayorga, but they said he couldn't make that weight. I was very comfortable fighting him at 154, but I was bummed out about it. I was looking forward to successfully defending my title and moving forward."

GL: Will Feliciano still be your next opponent? When can we expect you back in the ring? What's the plan now?

Kermit Cintron: "Right now Emanuel and Main EVents are looking to put me on someone else's card. I don't know if Feliciano is still going to be the opponent or if we're going to move forward to bigger and better things."

GL: If it's going to be bigger and better things, who would you like to move forward against?

KC: "I want to fight Margarito. I think that's the best fight for me. I know they're saying I'm avoiding Paul Williams, but he's the one avoiding me. I would love to unify the titles, but he doesn't want to make a fight so I think Margarito would be the better fight."

GL: If they both wanted to make fights would you prefer attempting to avenge your lone loss to Margarito or unify the titles against Paul Williams?

KC: "I would take either fight and I would love to unify the titles and get them all, because that would be the best way for me to show everyone that I'm the man in the welterweight division. Paul Williams, if he doesn't accept the fight I'll move forward and fight Margarito."

GL: If Williams were to accept the fight how would a fight between the two of you play out?

KC: "I'd knock him out in the late rounds."

GL: What do you think of him as a fighter?

KC: "He's a good fighter and he's a busy fighter. I think that's what gets him the wins, being busy. I don't think he's a big puncher and I think his chin is questionable. If he wants to make a fight I would accept the unification with no problem and I'm sure Emanuel would jump right to it."

GL: When will you have a solid update on your next move?

KC: "Hopefully before the end of the week."

GL: What happened when you offered to fight Mayorga at 154, they weren't going for that?

KC: "He couldn't even make 160 to fight Vargas, so they were giving him an extra few pounds. I don't understand how he can't make that weight when he's calling out all of the welterweight. He's calling out COtto, he's calling out Mosley and he's calling out Mayweather"

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

KC: "I want to thank Boxingtalk for giving me an opportunity to get my thoughts on there. I'm hoping to be back in the ring soon."
