The IBO announced that December 18th will see Kazakhstan's Ali Akhmedov fight Ecuador's Carlos Gongora for the super middleweight championship. The fight takes place in Hollywood, Florida on the Gennadiy Golovkin undercard, to be aired on DAZN. Akhmedov is 16-0, with his first twelve bouts at light heavyweight. He has fought solid competition in his career. Gongora is 20-0 including the World Series of Boxing. In his firsr WSB bout, he defeated Terrell Gausha, but lately his opposition level has been pretty low. The IBO super middleweight title was last held by Chris Eubank.
