The city of Dublin and the whole of Ireland is preparing for an emotional night on Saturday when the legendary Katie Taylor boxes for the final time. In a ten-year career, Taylor has achieved so much. From undisputed title reigns to headlining Madison Square Garden on multiple occasions, she will go down as a boxing trailblazer. Now she bids farewell against Flora Pili with the pair meeting for the undisputed junior welterweight title. Before Taylor and Pili go head-to-head, there will be an undercard which features an all-Irish showdown and a 50/50 heavyweight bout featuring a fan favorite. Taylor vs. Pili will take place on Saturday, September 5th, with the whole card set to be broadcast live on DAZN.
Heavyweight fan favorite Dave Allen will be featured against against Ireland's Thomas Carty. This is a genuine 50/50 heavyweight clash, but there is a lot on the line for Allen who is looking to rebuild after being battered by Filip Hrgovic in May. A defeat for 'The White Rhino' could bring the curtain down early on his boxing career.
There is also an all-Irish welterweight encounter between Paddy Donovan and Tyrone McKenna where both men will be looking to get themselves into world title contention. Donovan narrowly missed winning a world title, falling to Lewis Crocker by split decision in an attempt at the vacant IBF crown.
