GL: Can you give us some thoughts on the cancellation?
Kassim Ouma: I was very disappointed about it because I've been training for so long. I was getting ready to give the fans something exciting as I went to take Sergio Mora's head off. But hopefully something will happen and they can put me on another date. Sugar Shane Mosley is fighting on November 10 and I would love to be on the undercard. I haven't fought since last December and I want to fight as soon as possible.
GL: Do you still want to fight Sergio Mora?
Kassim Ouma: "He agreed to fight me and the fight is there, so I still want to fight him. But if they come with somebody else, I'll fight anybody. I'm ready, I'm in great shape and I'm ready to go."
GL: Have your people been in touch with Golden Boy to see what can be done about this?
KO: "Since it's the weekend, I don't know if they've talked a lot but on Monday they're going to be talking a lot. It was really difficult to be in training camp and not see my family and then the fight gets cancelled. My son was crying because I wasn't fighting."
GL: The last time we spoke you said you plan on fighting at welterweight. If this fight with Sergio Mora doesn't get rescheduled, will you start to look towards 147 as of now?
KO: "Yes. I know there's a lot of guys out there for me to fight. If any of the champions want to fight me, I'll make 147 and kick some butt"
GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?
KO: "To all the fans, especially the ones in Uganda. I wasn't going to let you down and the next time I get into the ring somebody will lose their head."
