Alex Bunema KO10 Roman Karmazin... In a huge upset, Alex Bunema's left hooks put junior middleweight contender Roman Karmazin to sleep in the tenth. It had been a tough fight for nine rounds but Karmazin's style of fighting with his hands down caught up with him. Karmazin had been the busier fighter, and led 89-82, 88-83 and 87-84 after nine rounds. According to CompuBox, however, Bunema had a miniscule edge in punches landed, 141-136 and Bunema was finding a home for his right hand. Karmazin was a top five junior middleweight who looked very impressive dismantling Alex Garcia just two months ago. Bunema meanwhile had only two insignificant fights after a two-year layoff. Bunema, 29-5, must now be considered a contender, while Karmazin, 36-3-1, suffers a damaging setback.
