Kaowichit vs. Mangubat set for Bangkok

PABA flyweight title champion Denkaosaen Kaowichit will defend his regional belt against a Filipino, Randy Mangubat, a former WBC International flyweight champ.  Both men challenged for world flyweight titles but came up short. Kaowichit was stopped by Eric Morel in 2002 while Mangubat lost to Pongsaklek Wongjongkam in 2003 and again in a 2004 non-title bout. Kaowichit, rated #18 by Boxingtalk, has doen much better than Mangubat lately. The bout between Kaowichit and Mangubat will take place in Minburi Market, Bangkok, on Febuary 17. On the same show, Kiatchai Krathingdaeng Gym aka Kiatchai 13-Coin Tower faces off againts Arniel Tinampay from Indonesia. And Plaisakda Singhwangcha aka Sakda Saksuree, former regional champ at 126 and 130 pounds faces off against an African fighter listed as Tailo Mulnong. The matches were announced by Mai Muangkorn Boxing Promotions.
