Junior feathers top Mohegan bill!

Press Release: Cappiello Promotions presents Mohegan Sun Fight Night Series on Saturday, October 28, 2006 in Uncasville, Connecticut. The twelve-round main event pits Hartford, Connecticut's Mike "Machine" Oliver against Adam "El Torito" Carrera for a vacant regional title at 122 pounds. Oliver looks to maintain his unbleamished professional record (16-0, 7 KOs) in what will be the biggest fight, thus far, in either fighter's career. For Oliver, a tremendous amateur with over 300 hundred bouts, this will be his sixth bout of 2006, and his eleventh since April 2005. His amateur experience and increased professional activity have quickly made him a force to be reckoned with in the junior-featherweight division. "I've said all along that Mike has the potential to be a world champ, and this is just another step in that quest. Like all his fights leading up to this one, he has to win to advance to the next level," said Capiello . Carrera (18-1, 8 KOs) enters the evening riding an eight fight win streak.  In a 4-round undercard attraction, undefeated featherweight prospect Dat Nguyen (4-0, 2 KOs) takes on Edwin Rosado (1-1, 1 KO). Born in Vietnam, Nguyen now lives in Maui, Hawaii, and trains in Vero Beach, Florida with famed trainer Buddy McGirt. Nguyen is one of the newest and brightest fighters in the Cappiello Promotions stable. Tickets are available by calling  508-587-3370, 860-886-0070, or at Ticketmaster.
