Joel Julio TKO8 Cornelius Bundrage... Still only 22 years old, welterweight Joel Julio turned in a strong performance, showing he has recovered from his loss to Carlos Quintana and shaky victory over Cosme Rivera. Against Cornelius Bundrage in Los Angeles, Julio scored a third-round knockdown and had Bundrage cut over one eye going into the eighth. Early on in the eight round, an overhand right from Julio hurt Bundrage badly and a repeat put him flat on his back. Bundrage bravely got up but was still hurt, and after Julio snapped Bundrage's head back twice, the referee wisely stopped the bout. Bundrage showed poor survival skills, as he was unable to tie up Julio, but credit Julio with strong finishing skills. Julio is now 32-1, and joins Sechew Powell and Steve Forbes as boxers who have beaten Bundrage. source: espn2 wednesday night fightsÂ
