Sasiprapa loss continues Thai western hemisphere woes
Juan C. Reveco TKO8 Nehtra Sasiprapa... Argentina Juan Carlos Reveco became the 29th world title holder in his nation's history by stopping Nehtra Sasiprapa in the eighth round to claim the vacant WBA light flyweight belt in Mendoza, Argentina. Sasiprapa, who like Reveco entered this fight with an unbeaten record, did very well in the first four rounds. But Reveco remained patient and floored the Thai visitor in the eighth round with a three-punch combination. Sasiprapa (17-1) beat the count but could not overcome the follow-up barrage and referee Gustavo Padilla stopped the fight. Earlier, Sasiprapa had a point deducted for repeated low punching. Reveco (16-0) was ahead on the judges' scorecards (68-65, 68-64 and 68-64) at the time of the stoppage. He claims the belt that Japanese icon Koki Kameda vacated in order to campaign at 112 pounds. source: wba website
