Heavyweight Joe Joyce (pictured) has a new opponent for April 5th in Manchester, England. Joyce recently pulled out of a tune-up fight but kept his scheduled April 5th date with Dillian Whyte-- only to see Whyte withdraw. In a Queensberry Promotions tweet, Joyce explained, "Whyte pulled out, so I called for a top heavyweight. Filip Hrgovic stepped up. We've fought before, and I am ready to face him again on my way back to the top." Both men are coming off losses - Joyce to Chisora in July, and Hrgovic to current IBF champion Daniel Dubois in June. Their prior meeting that Joyce was referring to came in 2013 as part of the World Series of Boxing, which Boxingtalk considers to be a legitimate professional fight that should count on the boxers' records. Joyce won the five-round encounter, which took place in London, by split decision.
