Joshua Clottey: Back From Africa, ready for Arum to serve up Cotto-Judah winner or Margarito!

GL:  You just came back from Ghana tell us about it. "The trip was fantastic.  I went to see a lot of people.  I went to see my family, and to see my daughter.  I'm back again.  I was in Africa when I heard he news of Diego Corrales' accident.  I was very sad, bacause he was very nice, and he did not give up as an opponent.  I'm very sad about it.  People across the world are sad about it."

GL:  Earlier today you gave me a ring, and you said you were hearing some things that Margarito was saying, or some remarks that were being made.  What's the deal Joshua, what's next for you?  What's going on?

JC:  Right now it's like when you don't talk, the people don't want to fight you.  I'm thinking it's like politics, they don't want to fight me.  They don't mention my name, they mention others, but they forget about me.  This is the time for me to talk, I want to fight for a title.   I want to fight Margarito, and he's going to fight Williams.  Good for him, but when it comes to fighting each other, he's trying to prove to himself that I lost to him.  I'm ready to fight the winner.

GL:  Do you think he's going to beat Williams?

JC:  Right now people have been complaining about Williams not punching.  I don't know if he can take a punch, but when he had a fight with Mythysse, he was a low kind of fighter.  He'd get very low to the ground.

GL:  Either way, you want to fight the winner of that fight, right?

JC:  I want to fight Margarito.  I really like him from the first day I met him.  He was very happy to see me, I was very happy to see him.  He was at my fight with Diego Corrales.  He was happy for me, but I really want to fight him.

GL:  I think an interesting fight for you would be the winner of the Cotto-Judah fight, because you're already with Top Rank.  Bob Arum promotes Miguel Cotto, and they also have options on Zab judah if he wins.

JC;  I don't know why that option hasn't been mentioned to me.  I'm surprised, in boxing you need to be silent, to see where your opponent is coming from.  It would be good to fight the winner of Cotto-Judah.

GL:  Do you have any idea when your next fight is going to take place?  Is anything on the calendar yet?

JC:  Right now they're telling me it's going to be the first week in August.

GL:  Do you know who you'll be fighting, or you don't know?

JC:  No, they're telling me it's just one to stay busy.

GL:  Oh, okay, a stay busy fight.

JC:  I don't think I need one more stay busy fight.  If I don't get a guy, then I'll do it.  I need a guy to mention my name and fight me, they mention other fighters, but they always forget about fighting me.  I'm surprised by it.  I think if I keep holding my mouth shut, they will not fight me.  This is a chance to tell them that I want to fight all of them.  Please give me a chance to prove myself.

GL:  That's right.  Well you've been on TV the last few times, so everybody knows about you.  The pressure is on now for these guys to step up to the plate.

JC:  That is the thing, if you don't get on HBO, then you go to Shotime, and they always like me to fight for them.  Nobody wants to fight me right now.

GL:  You know Shane Mosley's still looking for an opponent too.

JC:  That is the thing, they need to call me A.S.A.P.  I remember when I went to DiBella, DiBella gave me a fight.  He told me the fight was going to happen, at the end of the day, DiBella called me and said it was not going to happen.  The other guy didn't want to fight.  I really respect Mosley, because he's a master, but I want to fight him.  It's time to give Clotty a turn, give me an opening.

GL:  We're going to get this out there, Josh.  We're going to put it out there loud and clear for you net week.  Give us some closing thoughts for the fans, and keep in touch.

JC:  Thank you very much for talking to me.  You are a wonderful person.  I like how when I call you, you call me back, and give me the interview.  Please, do what you can for people to fight me.  You were the first guy that I always talked to.
