A Queensbury Promotions show is scheduled for the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday, May 24th. The show will be headlined by a confrontation between Josh Taylor (pictured) vs. Ekow Essuman. Taylor (19-2, 13 KOs), age 34 is a former undisputed world junior welterweight champion. For this fight, however, Taylor will step up to welterweight after being edged out on points in the May 2024 rematch against Jack Catterall. That was Taylor's second straight loss as he also came up short against Teofimo Lopez in 2023, the bot in which Taylor lost his champion status. Essuman (21-1, 8 KOs) has triumphed over two previously undefeated boxers in a row: Owen Cooper in July and Ben Vaughan in November. Previously, Essuman was the British and Commonwealth welterweight champion.
