Jones stops Braithwaite a bit too soon

What was developing into a cruiserweight war was cut short when the referee stopped the fight between Wayne Braithwaite and Guillermo Jones very prematurely in Jones' favor towards the end of the fourth round.  In round one, Jones hurt Braithwaite and shaken, but in rounds two and three, Braithwaite landed very effective punches and looked to be back on track. In the fourth, Braithwaite controlled the action until the end of the round when Jones fired back and landed a series of punches that hurt Braithwaite. However, not all of Jones' punches landed but Braithwaite as back against the ropes not punching back and the referee decided to stop the fight.  Braithwaite was attempting to duck and slip Jones punches and did get hit several times but when the referee stopped the fight Braithwaite had just slipped two punches in a row.  Braithwaite was completely aware of what was going on. With the controversial win, Jones improves his record to 33-3-2 with 26 KO'S, while Braithwaite's career takes a hit as he falls to 21-2 with 17 KOs.  Jones is now in line for a title shot againstt IBF champion O'Neil Bell who has struggled in his last two fights, but come out victorious. source: Showtime
