Gainer Gets Released From Warriors Boxing!
With just $120,000, Daniel Bahari, promoter of WBA featherweight champ Chris John, won a purse offer for John's mandatory defense against former WBA featherweight champ Derrick "Smoke" Gainer. John-Gainer will take place in Indonesia. Gainer also informed Boxingtalk.com that he has officially received his release from Warriors Boxing, who signed the former champ last year but were unable to land him a single fight. (5:15 PM ET)
