Jimmy Lange and Joey Gilbert will fight a rematch of their tight contest from the first season of The Contender on Lange's home turf, The Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia, on February 18, 2006.  In a  five-round contest that was partially aired during the NBC reality series, Gilbert overcame a lack of experience plus injuries and showed tremendous heart and determination in a fifth-round comeback win over Lange. This time around, Gilbert, 10-1 will meet Lange, 26-2-1, in a twelve-round fight for a regional middleweight Title.  Lange will be fighting for the second consecutive time on the George Mason University campus, drawing a huge local crowd.  Last time, he defeated previously unbeaten Percy Ballard  by  fourth-round TKO.  Gilbert is coming off a shutout  six-round decision over James North in his hometown of Reno, Nevada, last November.
