Jhonny Gonzalez held to a draw by Jafel Perales

Jhonny González D10 Jafel Perales... Former two-division champion Jhonny González, still fighting way past his prime, could not conquer little-known Jafel Perales (18-2-2), whom he fought to a draw after ten rounds. The show took place in Mexico and was promoted by Chiquita González Boxing at the Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City. González was a bantamweight and featherweight champion but fought Perales at lightweight, ending up with scores of 95-95, 99-92 and 95-96. From the first round, González had problems with his southpaw rival. Gonzalez took the initiative and tried to walk down his rival, but Perales responded with an effective counterattack. González`s record  is now 69-11-1.
 
UNDERCARD
 
The co-feature saw Christopher Manjarrez maintain his unbeaten record (5-0) by defeating Japan's Riku Kitani (4-1) via unanimous decision in the featherweight category. Manjarrez won with scorecards of 58-57, 59-55 and 58-57.
 
Isaac Bustos Jr (1-0-1), son of former champion Isaac “Tortas” Bustos, starred in a war with Michel Jesús Martínez (0-2-1), with whom he had a majority draw. Two cards read 38-38 and one favored Martínez by 39-37, after four rounds. At times, Martínez punished the face of Bustos Jr.
 
Meanwhile, Rogaciano Guerrero (6-1) defeated Jonathan Castillo (5-2) by technical knockout at 2:20 minutes of the first round, at junior welterweight.
 
Enrique Núñez (2-2) defeated Jahir Huerta (0-3) by unanimous decision, with three scores of 40-36, in the flyweight category.
 
The first professional fight of the night was a win for Brandon Velázquez (4-2-1), who knocked out Raúl Trejo (4-1-1) at 1:25 of the second round in amiddleweight bout.
