Jesus Chavez to be feted in Chicago

Press Release: Lightweight title holder Jesus Chavez will be the guest of honor this Friday, November 11, 2005 at the show entitled Pride and Glory, which will be televised on the Solo Boxeo series on Telefutura. Chavez, who recently won the IBF championship against Leavander Johnson, was thought to be heading into a match against Marco Antonio Barrera, but rumors say Barrera is having second thoughts about a Chavez fight.  The main event of the Chicago show is a ten round junior welterweight battle between Juan "The Hispanic Causing Panic" Lazcano, 34-3-1 (26KO's) of El Paso, TX and Courtney Burton, 21-4 (11KO's) of Grand Rapids, MI. Lazcano is coming off a first round knockout of Marco Angel Perez on August 19th in El Paso and is moving up from lightweight.  Burton's nine year career includes wins over Angel Manfredy, Francisco Lorenzo and Emanuel Augustus.
