Matchroom's Eddie Hearn tweeted that former WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas (pictured) has postponed his upcoming fight due to the coronavirus: "Despite being well, Jessie Vargas has tested positive for Covid and there will be a small delay to his Feb 5th fight vs. Liam 'Beefy' Smith. There will be a further announcement of the new date in due course  [by] DAZN."  [Hearn did not specify whether the entire card would be postponed or just the main event rescheduled]. 

Liam Smith's reaction: "Gutted my fight on Feb 5th is going to be pushed back, should only be a couple of weeks, I’m hoping. Will have news on a new date very soon. Wrap yourself in cotton wool please Jessie. Let’s get this fight on!"
