Jeff Lacy a Big Favorite over Peter Manfredo

In what will be a 10 round Supermiddleweight bout between former 168lb title holder Jeff Lacy and season 1 Contender star Peter Manfredo, Lacy is considered a 5-1 favorite.  Considered a comeback fight for both fighters, the loser of this bout will most likely find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to big fights accompanied by premium TV broadcast purses.  Jeff Lacy has recently signed with Golden Boy Promotions and is coming off of a shoulder injury which sidelined his boxing career for exactly one year.  Lacy won the vacant IBF Supermiddlweight title off of Syd Vanderpool and had successful defenses against Omar Sheika, Rubin Williams, Robin Reid and Scott Pemberton.  The only loss of Jeff Lacy’s career was a shutout against undisputed champion Joe Calzaghe.  Considered a devastating puncher, Lacy now has a professional record of 22-1 with 17 knockouts.  Peter Manfredo was a finalist on the Contender Season 1 and lost in the finals against Sergio Mora.  In a rematch, Mora won a controversial split decision.  Also with a blowout loss to Joe Calzaghe, Manfredo does have wins over Alfonso Gomez, Scott Pemberton and Joey Spina.  Manfredo now has a professional record of 28-4 with 13 knockouts.  Source: BetUs.com
