Jay Larkin takes MMA post

Will serve as IFL President and COO

Jay Larkin, the former head of Showtime Championship Boxing, has been hired as the president and chief operating officer of the IFL (International Fight League),  according to Bernard Fernadnez's report published in the Philadelphia Daily News. The IFL is a mixed martial arts outfit with a slew of national TV dates, including Fox Sports Net. Larkin was a major force in developing Showtime Championship Boxing to the highest tier in the sport, but he and Showtime parted ways last year.  After being let go, Larkin was instrumental in helping promoter Frank Warren take world super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe across the street to Showtime's principal competitor, HBO. For the IFL, Larkin's experience in the TV business and marketing major fights can only improve the league's current standings in the world of MMA.
