In preparation for his fight against Daniel Dubois, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (pictured) has called upon the services of James Ali Bashir, a longtime assistant to the legendary Emmanuel Steward. Bashir is also a former assistant trainer for Lennox Lewis, and has worked with Oleksandr Usyk, and most recently Daniel Dubois as an assistant to Don Charles. Bashir was not hired back by the Dubois camp after he went on record saying that Dubois got angry and frustrated when the referee failed to call Dubois' body shot a clean knockdown blow against Usyk, and that Dubois didn’t finish the job after he had Usyk badly hurt.
Bashir, who has more than forty years in the game, said that Miller is a big personality and believes he has all the attributes to beat the mentally fragile and as Miller himself has said on the record, once a quitter, always a quitter. “I think anyone who underestimates Big Baby is in for a big surprise. The bottom line is that Dubois didn’t finish Usyk when he had him badly hurt, regardless of the controversy. It’s been a pattern that he’s become used to, and when you face someone like Big Baby who can fight and who will be in Dubois' ass from the opening bell, Dubois will do what he does best and find a way out of the fight again,” said Bashir through an intermediary
“I believe after “Big Baby” secures this victory against Dubois, the fight that he wants is Anthony Joshua, if Joshua can get past Wallin, which is no gimme, because like Dubois, Big Baby believes Joshua is soft and mentally fragile. While AJ said he’s Big Baby’s landlord, it is Big Baby who has been living rent free in Joshua’s head. If Joshua loses, then Big Baby will target Wilder, another fighter on his hit list. It would not surprise me at all if Wallin has his hand raised because he will come to fight and has all the tools to put Joshua into retirement.”
When Bashir was asked his thoughts about Jarrell’s prior suspensions for testing positive for PED’s and his thoughts on Joshua vs, Wallin, Bashir said, “Big Baby is is a better place now financially."
