According to the respected Asian Boxing website, the vacant Japanese minimumweight title will be up for grabs on January 11th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Kai Ishizawa (9-1, 8 KOs) will battle Katsuki Mori (9-0, 2 KOs). The domestic 105-pound title was last held by Masataka Taniguchi, who last defended it in June, but vacated for a world title bid. That move paid off when Taniguchi defeated Wilfredo Mendez last month to become the IBF champion.
