Jantuah stretches Rubio in one

Kofi Jantuah scored a devastating first-round, one-punch knock out of Marco Antonio Rubio on the Hopkins-De La Hoya undercard in Las Vegas.  Rubio and Jantuah landed simulatenous left hooks about thirty seconds into their junior middleweight bout.  Jantuah’s left turned out the lights on Rubio, sending the back of his head crashing hard into the canvas.  Jantuah, now 28-1, entered as Boxingtalk’s # 19 junior middle, but the spectacular performance has him destined for the top ten.  The victory makes Jantuah the WBC mandatory to world champion Winky Wright but Javier Castillejo is the long-time interim titlist, so it is still unclear who is next for Jantuah.  Rubio, unrated by Boxingtalk, drops to 24-1.
