Ishe Smith returning to welterweight!

Ishe "Sugar Shay" Smith has decided to return to the welterweight division.  In 2003 Smith soared up the rankings in the welterweight division, and in 2004 he defeated former champ Randall Bailey to claim 3 minor titles; USBA, WBC Continental Americas, and the NABO titles.  Afterwards Smith was ranked in the top 10 of every sanctioning body, making him poised to win a title.  Then came, reality television show, The Contender, dropping Smith out of title contention.  With the Contender came fame, fans, and exposure that most boxers would kill for,  however, not everything that glitters is gold.  Because of the reality shows need for a long layoff, weight change, and not having the results of the show released until 2005; every sanctioning body dropped Smith from their rankings. "I have talked with my team, and we are all confident I can make this weight again.  I believe I was deprived of becoming world champion at welterweight, so I am returning home to make my presence known at my division.  If you look at my last 3 fights, Mora, Bosante, and Thompson, I hurt all of those guys at one point or another in our fights.  I know if I can hurt guys bigger than me, then what do these welterweights think  I am going to do to them?"  Look for Smith to be fighting on August 25th in Tucson, Arizona, as part of Goldenboys, Telefutura card.
