Ireland getting excited about Kronk's Andy Lee!

Irish middleweight Andy Lee continues to impress fighting out of the Kronk Gym in Detroit under renowned coach Emanuel Steward. The unbeaten twenty one year old southpaw celebrated  the third victory of his pro career in Memphis recently after he dropped American Rodney Freeman 1 minute and 38 seconds into round one. The former Irish Olympian says he wants to have one fight every month this year and that could include  putting on a show in Ireland. Lee's last bout on native soil saw him comfortably beat former world and Cuban national champion Yordanis Despaigne at the National Stadium in Dublin. That contest was his last fight as an amateur before he signed a five year contract with Emanuel Steward and the Kronk Gym.  Lee also made a big impression before his fight in Memphis when he sparred with, and reportedly held his own against current world middleweight champ Jermain Taylor who was using the Kronk to prepare for his duel with Ronald "Winky" Wright. Lee has even been allowed add a green stripe and shamrock to the world renowned red & gold trunk colours of the Kronk.  Emanuel Steward has been chasing Lee since he received a video of his defeat of Arizona puncher Jesus Gonzalez  in the semi final of  the world junior championships in Cuba in 2002. Lee eventually lost his final to Cuban Novelis Diaz  in front of thousands of partisan Cuban fight fans on a hot and humid night in Santiago De Cuba-but Steward was impressed.  "Andy has the talent and potential to do his country proud. He is definitely world champion material and
I should know as I have trained and managed enough world champions," said Steward.
