GL: I recently heard about your fight with Samuel Miller, an ESPN main event on February 29th. What can you tell us about it? "Samuel Miller and I were supposed to fight before. Due to my health at the time, I didn't take the fight. This fight, for me having just fought in January, is rather quick. We really didn't care about who we were fighting, or who they chose to put in there, so they put Sammy Miller in there."Â
GL:Â How do you feel about getting two fights in the first two months of the year?
Alan Green: It feels great, I feel fresh, like I haven't even fought. I can probably get in four or five fights this year, the way it's looking right now.Â
GL: Tell us what you know about Samuel Miller. What do you think about him as a fighter?
AG: He's okay. I'm not going to sit here and lie, and glorify, I know he's not on my level. Everybody knows he's not on my level. I'm not taking him light, and I'm training very hard. I'm going to fight a very careful?, fight. A very careful fight, I'm not looking for the knockout. I'm in shape to go 10 or 12, whatever I have to do. He's okay, but he's not on my level.
GL:Â Until you get the fights that you're looking to secure with the names that you've mentioned several times on BoxingTalk, can we expect to see you stay as busy as possible, and be featured on ESPN?
AG: Oh, yeah. I'm a fighter, I love fighting, I'm going to stay as busy as possible. If I can't get the guys I need to get, if things don't go like they should, then I'll just stay busy.Â
GL:Â Do you consider Samuel Miller a step up from Ruben Williams?
AG: Hell no. It's no disrespect to Samuel Miller, he's still young in his career. He won against ???, he got dropped against a guy that I obliterated in one round, which is Darell Wood. No disrespect to him, there are some guys who've got it, and there are some guys who don't. He's just one of those guys that don't have it.
GL:Â The fights happening in Louisianna, how do you feel about the fight happening in the bayou?
AG: It's good, we're getting the fight away from home. You get that home cooking all the time when you're fighting at home. I'm looking forward to fighting somewhere outside of Oklahoma. Earlier in my career, I fought in California a lot, now I've been fighting in Oaklahoma a lot. I've wanted to start fighting elsewhere outside of Oaklahoma.Â
GL:Â Give us some closing thoughts.
AG: If things go as planned, I'll be champion in 2008. I love BoxingTalk.
