Inoue and Nakatani make weight

Four-division champion Naoya "Monster" Inoue will defend his undisputed world super bantamweight championship against three-division Junto Nakatani in the biggest fight in Japanese history on May 2nd at the Tokyo Dome. Both men are undefeated. On Friday, Inoue weighed in at the division limit of 122 pounds. Nakatani, moving up from bantamweight, weighed in at 121.5. Inoue (32-0) made his pro debut in 2012. From the start, he stood out for his potent knockout power and refined technique, quickly gaining global recognition. In 2014, he became WBC light flyweight champion and WBO super flyweight champion. He later dominated the bantamweight division, where he became undisputed champion in 2022. In 2023, he repeated the feat at super bantamweight, becoming undisputed in two divisions.
 
Nakatani (32-0) turned professional in 2015. With his reach, technique, and exceptional power, he quickly established himself as a threat in the lower weight classes. In 2020, he won the WBO flyweight title. He later moved up to super flyweight, where he became WBO champion, and then to bantamweight, capturing two of the world titles.
