Mexican super middleweight Daniel “Iceman” Blancas will step in against once-beaten Sergio Jimenez for an eight or ten-round showdown ive on DAZN on Saturday, September 19th at Pechanga Arena in San Diego. The card is headlined by another Mexican, WBC interim 140-pound champion Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz defending his title against once-beaten Puerto Rican contender Nestor Bravo. In the co-feature, WBC interim middleweight champion Jesús “Mono” Ramos Jr. takes on unbeaten mandatory challenger Meiirim Nursultanov in a high-stakes tilt. A gym-mate of two-belt cruiserweight champion David Benavidez, Blanco trains under the guidance of Jose Benavidez Sr. and hopes to keep his unbeaten streak going against dangerous Mexican veteran Jimenez.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Blancas (15-0, 7 KOs) made his 2026 debut in May, going the ten-round distance for the first time in dominating Raul Salomon on his way to a unanimous decision. The win followed a three-win 2025 campaign for the 24-year-old, who delivered knockouts against Kwame Ritter and William Townsel following a unanimous decision over the previously unbeaten Juan Barajas.

A native of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, Jimenez (17-1-1, 15 KOs) most recently returned to action in February by stopping Abraham Gomez Tiburcio in three rounds. Now residing in San Pedro, California, Jimenez has fought professionally since 2021, winning fifteen straight outings after a draw in his pro debut. During that streak, Jimenez ended ten bouts within two rounds. His only blemish came in August 2024 as he dropped a decision against veteran Deon Nicholson. “I’m coming to show Blancas he hasn’t seen before, and if he’s not ready, I’m definitely gonna take full advantage of this opportunity,” said Jimenez.
