Press release: Heavyweight Sultan Ibragimov (15-0-13 KO’s) (2000 Olympic Silver Medalist) is scheduled to defend his regional heavyweight title against an opponent to be named on Friday April 22, 2005, at the Tropicana Casino Resort, Atlantic City, NJ.

The Tropicana Casino Resort in association with Dee Lee Promotions, Inc., Sal Musumeci’s Final Forum Inc. and Sampson Lewkowicz, Matchmaker presents 2000 Olympic Silver Medalist Sultan Ibregimov 15-0-13 KO’s in the 3rd defense of his WBO Asian Pacific Title. The 30 year old former Russian Olympian has been fighting hard and is now and is now ranked #8 by the WBO. Trained by Panama Lewis, Ibragimov’s big punch and rough house style have made him a crowd favorite from Moscow to Madison Square Garden. Lewis went to jail and is on lifetime suspension from working any boxer's corner because he removed the stuffing from one of his own fighter's gloves, which led to the ended the career of Bill Collins.  Ibragimov’s 3rd round TKO of former IBF Cruiserweight champ Al Cole has him positioned to move to the next level in the wide open heavyweight division.

The co-feature on this solid 6 bout card features another Russian Heavyweight, Timur Ibragimov 17-0-1,10 KO’s in the 3rd defense of his regional belt. Timur’s last bout was a 3rd round KO of Ronald Bellamy at MSG Theatre on March 3, 2005. This was the knock out of the year.

Local home town favorite Welterweight Shamone Alvarez, 11-0-8 KO’s, Long Island Heavyweight Derrie Russy, 4-0-3 KO’s, Welterweight Julio Aquino, 14-2-0, 13 KO’s and Eddie Mansey 1-0, round out this action packed card. This will be Alverez’s 5th trip to the Tropicana Showroom and he has no intention of disappointing his hometown friends.
