The IBA Kunlun Fight World Cup is set to ignite Beijing with world-class boxing and kickboxing action on November 16th. This groundbreaking event, hosted at the National Indoor Stadium, will be live streamed globally. The show starts with four kickboxing matches. The boxing event features four quarterfinal showdowns in the junior welterweight division, all in a professional six-round format at the stage of quarterfinals. In one match-up, Bakhodur Usmonov of Tajikistan, boasting an 8-0 record with 3 knockouts, will clash with local favorite LeQuan Wang, an experienced fighter with a record of 8-2 with 5 KOs. Meanwhile, fans will see Olympic champion Erislandy Alvarez from Cuba — a young yet remarkably experienced amateur with three pro wins, go head-to-head with Adilet Kurmetov from Kazakhstan... France’s Sofiane Oumiha, a three-time IBA amateur world champion and two-time Olympic silver medallist with an undefeated 5-0 pro record, is set to face Serbia’s Pavel Fedorov, who has achieved three professional victories to his name. Venezuela’s Luis Arcon (15-0-1) will take on Russia’s Gabil Mamedov (3-0).
‘This tournament brings together boxers from around the world in a professional format—eight of the absolute best in each category,’ said IBA President Umar Kremlev. ‘We aim to thrill audiences in China and beyond with these top-tier contests. With prize money on the line, these boxers not only chase glory but also work to support their families. Our mission is to create the right platform for them to shine.’
IBA Secretary General & CEO, Chris Roberts OBE repeated again, ‘IBA continue to deliver at the highest level, with everything that we do, remains in situ for the athlete and the wider population of our boxing fans across the globe – we aim to please, and we will remain as the lead global boxing organization by providing opportunities for our people across all continents; Saturday evening will undoubtedly be a night to remember.’
